Todd Allen Hill's Obituary
Todd Allen Hill, 54, of Brooksville, FL passed away January 11, 2018. A native of St Petersburg FL he came to the area in 1978. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved riding his bike and spending time with his friends. He was predeceased by his father Roy King and survivors include his mother, Loraine McKenzie; 2 brothers Dennis Calkins and Mark McKenzie; sister, Teri Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
Yesterday the BARN community, Mountaineer coffee fans and the Brooksville community at large lost a Brooksville legend. As legends do he was known by his first name only, ‘Todd’. Todd could be seen riding his bike at the Winn Dixie intersection and up and down Highway 41, always with his helmet tightly strapped. Todd loved the Coffee Barn and Bakery and would make the short ride from his apartment daily to eat, drink and hangout. When the CBB moved uptown Todd followed, making that long bike ride uphill to Mountaineer, often drenched in sweat when he arrived. Todd loved people, sometimes he didn’t know how to appropriately show it, but if you spent the time to talk to him he would treat you as his best friend. If you were on his calling list rest assured he would call, and call and call. Todd was a very special person who touched all our lives differently. He loved his family, he loved his BARN family and he loved his Mountaineer family. Todd, a very special man, has a very special place just for him in the Kingdom of God. I wouldn’t be surprised that when Todd met God face to face there was a brand new bike and helmet waiting for him. Maybe God even said, “Don’t worry Todd all your biking will be downhill from now on.”
Todd will be missed by all of us who were blessed to know him. As for me his memory will always be in my heart and mind. I will miss his phone calls and his scowling face, but I will treasure his sneaky smile and his big hugs. Todd was loved by many and now he rests in the everlasting love of Almighty God.
