The very first time I met Todd I was at the then Coffee Barn and Bakery, sitting at the bar area, quietly sipping my choice of drink. I clearly remember when he walked through the door, holding his helmet under arm and pulling up a stool to sit right next to me (a little closer than I was anticipating!). He looked over and gave me the biggest, goofiest grin I've ever seen and didn't hesitate to make conversation. I was moved (and maybe a little taken back) by his friendliness. As I began to recognize him all over town, making conversation and visiting all of his favorite places, I realized something: he loves people and genuinely cares about their well being. When he found out I worked at Publix, he would make the effort to come see me at work. And even though it was in the dead of summer, he didn't think twice about stopping in to merely see how I was doing because he "hasn't seen me at Mountaineer Coffee lately." This town will not be the same without his loving heart. I can only hope to honor his memory by following his example and loving people unconditionally. Rest in peace my friend.
