Tod James Kilroy's Obituary
Tod James Kilroy, 85, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Paula Kilroy, with whom he shared nearly fifty wonderful years of marriage filled with love, companionship, and countless memories.
Tod was born on December 25, 1940, in Lockport, New York, to the late James Raymond Kilroy and Clare Kilroy (née Ritzenthaler). Tod graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science. Later returning to earn his Masters in Urban Planning in 1987. He built a long and fulfilling career as a city planner, dedicating forty years of service to thoughtful development and community improvement.
Tod found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a lifelong appreciation for antique cars and proudly owned several over the years, including a 1950 Ford, a 1969 Chevy, and a Buick Riviera. He loved being on the water and enjoyed boating whenever he could, as well as camping and spending time outdoors. At home, Tod was always working on projects or tackling repairs, finding satisfaction in building, fixing, and improving his surroundings. In quieter moments, he enjoyed western movies, especially the television series Yellowstone.
Tod will be remembered most for his unmistakable laugh that could light up any room. Gentle by nature, he was nonconfrontational and avoided arguments or drama, preferring peace and kindness. He had a big heart and was consistently caring, thoughtful, and compassionate toward those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Kilroy; his daughter, Coleen Kilroy; three stepchildren, Robin Jeffers, Robert Jeffers, and David Jeffers; 11 grandchildren; his brother, Daniel Kilroy (Linda); and his sister, Kathryn Ingro (Joseph).
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Michael C. Kilroy and his stepson, Daniel Jeffers.
Tod’s warmth, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on April 22, 2026 at 11am at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs, 4651 Little Rd, New Port Richey, Florida 34655.
