It has been some years since Mary & I have seen each other but, her loss is devastating for many!
I remember staying in her & Wally's home as he started to get really sick and watched how she handled his decline with grace and strength. What a women. I admired how she took challenges head on.
She was a great hostess & Friend always so welcoming and inclusive. Her little humorous sarcastic remarks could always get a laugh and then what a treat to hear her laugh...infectious giggles!!
I connected with Mama Mary on a domestic level. She was a MOTHER to many Motherless Daughter's like me. I have Many fond memories of sewing, crafting and cooking. Collaborating on sewing projects was some of my greatest joys to share with her.
Thank You dearest Patsy for introducing us. (She helped repair and restore my most precious childhood stuffed sock monkey and made him a "wife" sock monkey AND... made them matching outfits... those still sit on my dresser to this day!) More recently, She helped me make a quilt comprised of my daughters baby blankets (this was a Pain & we cussed together but she got it done despite all the challenges). Now my daughter has this treasured item and enjoys it into her teen years. She even made a little Pittsburg Steelers cheerleader outfit for a piñata... that's a long funny story Patsy could tell. Mary was always willing for an adventure.
I could go on and on...She was so full of life and sass so, when someone like Mary leaves our sight she leaves an unimaginable void. She is definitely an ANGEL that has her wings!
My deepest heartfelt sympathies to Patsy and her Family as they trudge the days and weeks ahead with heavy-broken hearts.
