Joan Wilhelm's Obituary
Joan Annette Wilhelm, 84, passed away in the presence of family on Monday, May 11th, at Bayonet Point Medical Center in Hudson, Florida. She was born July 26, 1935, to Irene and Wilbert "Duke" DuClos.
She attended Lake View High School in Chicago and Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. She married Jerome "Jerry" Wilhelm August 16, 1958, taught elementary school up until the birth of her first son and enjoyed her work as a substitute teacher in Illinois Northwestern Suburban School District 26 for several years after that. She loved spending time with her closest friends, traveling, and dining out....especially the dining out part. 😊 Joan and Jerry lived their later years by supporting the Word Of Life Bible Institute in Hudson Florida, moving into the RV park and volunteering their time to assist young people in their pursuit of God's teachings while enjoying her membership with Idelwild Baptist Church.
Together they rooted for their beloved Chicago Cubs and Bears, loyal to a fault.
She always kept close to her heart the memory of her sister Doris who died as a child. Joan is survived by her sons Scott and Keith, her sister Jill, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was buried on May 14 at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, Florida, and will be missed terribly. She would want everyone to know that she is home now with her Lord Jesus Christ and to not mourn her leaving this earth but to rejoice in the fact that by God's grace she will spend eternity in Heaven.
