Joan Alice Fisher's Obituary
Joan Alice Fisher, 90, passed away peacefully February 18th at Solaris Health Care. Born in Ft. Wayne, IN to Frank and Ellen Fisher on September 18th, 1927, she was the 7th of 8 children.
She graduated from Central High School in 1944. She then joined the WAC and served her country for four years. Most of that time spent in Italy. Joan went on to graduate from the University of Alabama and was an ardent “Crimson Tide” football fan. She taught in Birmingham, Alabama school system from 1962-1988, serving as the Principal of Inglebrook Elementary from 1966 until her retirement.
She and “Pee Wee” moved to Hudson, FL upon retirement and lived there for the remainder of their days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved partner of 50 years, Azella Beadell, a.k.a “Pee Wee”, her five brothers, Stanley, Dale, Frank, Robert and Marvin Fisher, and her sister, Wava Henschen. Her only surviving sister, Carol Terson, resides in Hickory, NC.
Joan was a character and truly “one of a kind”. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
