Ms Fisher was a wonderful principal fair and just as a troubled youth she did not give up on me so thankful for for influence on on my life
Ms. Fisher taught me woodworking and leather working at Inglenook Elementary in Birmingham in 1973-1974. I’ve thought of her often, and for the last two weeks I’ve been making chairs and thinking of her every day. A quotes remember and practice, “Hayes, quit playing with that board and square it!”
She was one of the most influential teachers I’ve had, took no crap, was extremely fair, quiet about her service in the WAC, competent and assured.
Joan was truly a wonderful friend and educator. Even after retirement and relocating to Hudson, Florida she was interested in the school system and what was taking place. I always looked forward to our telephone conversations on Sunday.
So thankful she and Pee Wee have reunited in heaven. They can now pick up where they left off. May God shed his richest blessings on the family and friends left behind. One day we will all be reunited with Joan.
She was truly a servant leader and will be missed by many at the retirement home.
I will miss our Saturday "chats" and all the family history you shared with me. Your sense of humor was truly unique. I will miss you, Aunt Joan...you were a big part of all my memories growing up. Love you always, Cathy
Thinking of Aunt Joan . She lived far away, but still remained a favorite in my heart! I remember fun family reunions, and I'm sure if her brother Stanley was still alive, he would have so many stories of their times together! I do know that he loved her very much! Rest in peace, Aunt Joan, your in my prayers and in my heart!
