James J Powers June 25 1947- December 3 2015
Who is James? Well he is a Grandfather, a Father, a Father-in-Law, an Uncle, a Husband, a Son, a Brother, a God Father, and a friend.. He is all of these things, but he is awesome at what he is. A man that took care of his family was always there for them, no matter when they needed him. He was always the life of the party, I can always remember going to parties and him being the one out on the dance floor dancing all night and it seemed he was having a better time than the people that threw the party. He was the Dad Uncle and Grandpa that was very present and anytime he had the chance to play like a kid he did and he did it so well that you forgot he was an adult. Not many people really got to know the real Jim, he was very quiet. You actually had to take the time to get to know him. He wasn’t an outgoing person. He still is the most honest man I have ever met in my life, I never once heard him tell a lie….people nicknamed him Honest Abe.
He embodied the verse Ephesians 4:12 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, Forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you”.
Yes we will miss him dearly, but I hold hope, that one day we will meet again. He will be there waiting for us, and what a wonderful reunion it will be. As it says in JOHN 14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
For this I know now he is in Heaven, with his heavenly father, and all of his loved ones that have departed, which also went to be with the Lord. I’m sure there were plenty of people there to greet him and welcome him into the big pearly gates. He now has his glorified body with no more pain.
