James Raymond Haley's Obituary
(Ret) MSgt James "Jim" Raymond Haley, 78, of Hudson, FL, passed away very peacefully at his home on the morning of Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born to Lucille and Raymond Haley on November 8, 1939 in Lexington, KY. In 1959 he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served an amazing career in Command and Control, retiring in September 1986. In the last 2 years of his career he served on the Military Airlift Command Inspector General Team. He was a real patriot and loved serving his country. His overseas tours included 3 assignments to Europe in Iceland and one to the South Pacific in the Philippines, as well as many stateside assignments. Upon retirement Jim moved to Hudson, FL where he pursued his strong passion for the game of golf. He enjoyed his golf buddies as they golfed the many courses throughout Pasco and Hernando counties, as well as in Tampa and the panhandle of Florida. But, his greatest love was of his family. He was most proud of and loved his daughters Lucy and Cathy. Jim was extremely proud to be a grandfather and most recently added the title of great-grandfather. He was blessed by the love and companionship of Marilyn Minick for 20 years. Survivors include his daughters Lucy Leibach (Rick), Niceville, FL; Catherine Tyner (James), Tampa, FL; companion Marilyn Minick, Hudson, FL; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Wilson (Mandy); Haley Leibach, and Austin Leibach all of Niceville, FL; Daniel Tyner, Billings, MT; Quinton Tyner, Tampa, FL; and great-grandson Parker Wilson, Niceville, FL.
A memorial service is planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local hospice organizations.
