Dr. Lisa Ferlita
I have known Geri for as long as I have known myself. I was two years old when she entered my life, and from that moment on, she became something rare and sacred to me, a second mother.
Our relationship was quiet, private, and deeply rooted in love. She shared a bond with my own mom that few ever saw or understood, but through that bond, she chose my brother and me. While the world may not have recognized us as family, Geri always did. And that is what mattered.
She showed up in the ways that truly count, not through titles or labels, but through presence, care, and unwavering acceptance. She saw us, loved us, and held space for us in her heart without hesitation or condition. To be loved like that is a gift I will carry forever.
Geri taught me that family is not defined by blood alone, but by loyalty, compassion, and the quiet decisions we make to love one another fully. She lived that truth every day.
I am endlessly grateful for her, for the role she played in shaping my life, and for the love she gave so freely. She will always be part of my story, my heart, and my definition of what it means to be family.
Rest peacefully, Geri.
You were loved more than you knew, and you always will
