George V. Grassi, 92, of Hudson, Fl. passed away July 3, 2015. He was native of Bronx, NY born to Luigi and Saveria (Casario) Grassi in 1923. George enlisted in the Army in July 1942. He took his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentu Read Obituary
George was an expert mechanic. Back in the 1970's, he rebuilt an engine in my car. There was a condition that I would not set foot in the garage while he was working! George and Anita both were compassionate, warm-hearted people who were very good to me and my family. They will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Uncle George will be missed. He was always so nice to me, my brother and my mom. I will miss my Christmas card from him this year. Love you Uncle George. May you be at peace.

I have such warm memories of George(Mr. Grass) neighbors on Long Island from when I was 4 years old until an adult. What a wonderful man and family. I am praying for the entire family. It is good to know he is out of pain and with his beautiful Anita in heaven. Anita & George, Grandma Tilli, Gina & Georgann were like family to my family. Much love to you all.
Uncle George was the last of our Grassi uncles. He and my Dad would tease each other over who would be the last remaining !! Have such fond memories of our childhood and later years as well with Uncle George, Aunt Anita, Aunt Tillie and the girls. Brentwood and Mastic Acres!! He will be forever in our hearts and prayers. Condolences on your loss. I am vacationing in St Pete, Fl. I believe that I remember Georgie when I was very young. His father owned a summer cottage on Mayfield Dr in Mastic Beach

If this is the correct family, I also remember Georgie's Dad who built bird houses(he gave 1 to me) and smoked a pipe. Many years ago after
"Little Pink"(we nicknamed it) was sold to people by the last name of Hakiel; late I night I was at that house babysitting my friends 2 daughters and got spooked because I smelled pipe tobacco just like(I think we called pop Louie??)grandpa smoked...

I cannot attend the funeral to my dismay. A friend of mine in Port St Lucie where I now live, funeral is also tomorrow and I must attend. I have to do a reading at his mass...
