Ernest J. Pollock Jr.'s Obituary
Pollock, Ernest Johnston Jr. died on December 16, 2023 at his home in Hudson, FL with his family by his side. He was born on January 7, 1947 in Dayton, OH to Ernest J. Pollock Sr. and Ruby Pollock (Duggins). He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rebecca Bostelman. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Victoria Pollock (Wharton); a sister, Mary Kathryn Kronour of Independence, MO; his sons, Ross Pollock of Cleveland, OH and Michael Pollock of Oviedo, FL. He is also survived by his granddaughters Avery Pollock and Cameron Pollock, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Trotwood Madison High School in Trotwood, OH and Bowling Green State University. He played football in high school and in college at BGSU where he was a defensive tackle. After graduating from college he worked as a high school math teacher and football coach. He taught and coached at Woodmore High School in Elmore, OH, Gulf High School in New Port Richey, FL and Hudson High School in Hudson, FL. He was an assistant football coach at Gulf High and was the head varsity football coach at both Woodmore High School and Hudson High School. in addition, to his job as a teacher and coach he also did various jobs at Sun Print Management. He loved sports, especially football and was a huge Cleveland Browns fan. He also enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a licensed charter boat captain and enjoyed offshore powerboat racing. He and his team won the class A national championships in St. Petersburg and in Milwaukee. He was also a team manger for a Super B class team that won 9 world championships, 10 national championships, and 10 Florida state championships. Traveling was another interest of his. Trips included taking the family on summer vacations to both the east and west coasts of the U.S. He also traveled to Alaska, Costa Rica, Europe, and made many trips to the Florida Keys. He enjoyed his work, sports, boating, fishing, and traveling but his family and friends were always his top priority. He always had time to help someone when needed. His family and friends brought him great happiness. Visitation will be at 10:00 am on December 23 at Grace Memorial Gardens 16931 US Highway 19 N Hudson, FL 34667 to be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
