A POEM TO ED FROM MOM, DAD & CHERYL
Ed, you were taken too soon and this we all know
but it was hard to see you suffer and we knew we had to let you go.
We stood there beside you as you took your last breath
and we knew right then that we were dealing with death.
With your death came the grief that we all shared
knowing that we were the only ones that truly cared.
We were with you from beginning to end
but unfortunately your life we couldn't extend.
Your children are left with only memories of you
and one day they might want to see what is true.
They'll search will result in memories that were kept
that only will add to their sorrow in depth.
Ed, until we meet again I'd like to say
that this first anniversary of your passing is a really hard day.
A day that will be in remembrance of you at our side
and the many, many hours that we all have cried.
Now, in order to say what we have and feel
we need to look to the sky and pray we will heal.
I know you are safe and will wait till the day
when you will greet all of us in the same way.
May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.

If I still lived in FL, I would be there to honor his memory. Your son/brother was a stand up person and I always had fun with him and the crowd in middle/high school. I was glad to stay in touch with him through social media and see the the joy his children brought him. God bless all of you as you endure this pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My brother was such a kindhearted soul. He was gentle and always joking around. When I was little, he couldn't pronounce my name, so he called me "Iya". He used to lay on the floor on his back and play with his fingers all the time. If anyone remembers comedy about "Stop looking at me", that was Ed. He would always walk by my bedroom and give me a goofy look on his way to his bedroom. He always did that to "rile" me up. Ed was just always funny. He and I had the same likes. We both ended up in IT jobs, and we both liked the same kind of music. We recently watched the Rush movie when he visited me a couple of weeks ago. We had fun and a few laughs. He threw me for a loop when he told me about the group called "Squirrel Nut Zippers". He was just like that. Always throwing me for a loop.
I will miss you forever and always Ed. You were the best brother a sister could ever have and I will cherish all my memories of us together forever. I'm so glad we were close. I thought of you as my best friend. You are no longer suffering dear one. The pain is gone and your home life woes are gone also.
Rest in peace baby brother. I love you and will see you again in Heaven.
