Darryl L. Meadows' Obituary
Darryl L. Meadows, 69, of Homosassa, FL passed away May 1, 2017. A native of Rhodell, W.VA born to George Thomas Meadows and Claudia Rhea (Farley) Meadows. As a youth Darryl found a passion for motorcycles. He bought his first one without ever a ride, a few laps around the block and he was off to the open road. Later in life those adventures continued with his wife, Judy; as they logged over 50,000 miles on their Gold Wing riding all over the country including a trip to Alaska as well. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict and then, later he retired from Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company after 35 years of service. Coming to Homosassa 2 years ago, Darryl enjoyed playing golf, doing his home improvement projects and spend time in the yard as well. However one of his favorite things was playing ball with his dog “Mac”. Sadly “Mac” passed away last December. But we are sure he was there to meet Darryl, ball in mouth and ready to play again.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Judy Meadows; daughter, Shanda Vanderpol and Fiancé Morgan Savage (& Shanda’s mother, Lennye “Rebel”); son, David Kingshott and companion Paula Centers; daughter, Jennifer Rose and husband Joey; brother, Randall Meadows and wife Cris; 2 sisters, Joann Hearld and husband Roger, and Judy Lamar and husband Chuck; grandson, Marcus Banta; 5 nieces and 3 nephews and their families. A celebration of Darryl’s life will be held at a later date. At the request of the family “Hug 3 people today and tell each of them why you feel blessed to have them in Your Life!!”
Celebration of life will be Saturday June 10, at American Legion at 350 East Main Street Mooresville. Visitation 11am to 1130 with a small service by the Honor Guard. A light meal and fellowship will follow until 1:30pm.
