Charles M. Kehoe's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Charles “Charlie” Kehoe
Charles “Charlie” Kehoe passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family.
A lifelong resident of Newburgh, New York, Charlie graduated from Newburgh Free Academy before proudly serving his country as a United States Air Force medic during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began a distinguished 32-year career with the Town of Newburgh Police Department, ultimately retiring as Chief of Police. His dedication to serving others extended beyond law enforcement through his years of volunteer service with the Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Middlehope Volunteer Fire Department.
In his younger years, Charlie worked alongside his father at Kehoe & Son Demolition and was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 825.
While public service was a defining part of his life, Charlie's greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends. He loved fly fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, traveling and building homes with friends. He was also known for his incredible cooking, quick wit, generous spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his daughters, Tracie Ryther and her husband Glenn, and Suzanne Agostino and her husband Patrick; his cherished grandchildren, Cailey and Justin Ryther, and Ella, Keegan, and Tucker Agostino; his great-grandchildren, Ana and Sophia Ryther; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship, kindness, and humor.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Grace Memorial Garden and Funeral Home in Hudson, FL on Wednesday, June 10th at 11 AM. A second memorial service will be announced at a later date in Middlehope, New York, where he will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in the fall.
His legacy of service, laughter, friendship, and love will live on in all who knew him.
