Carmen Shannon, 89, of Spring Hill passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, under the care of Marliere Hospice House in New Port Richey, Florida. The tenacious Carmen was born in Puerto Rico to the late Raymundo Padilla and Josefin Read Obituary
I occassionally thought about Carmen. Thought about her today, and now I find that she has passed. Darling woman. I work for AAA in the Travel Accounting Department and would help her out with her cruise groups. She took me to lunch once to express her gratitude. Always fiery and independent, but not so much with technology. Nevertheless, she made an impression on me with her lively attitude and kindness, so I am remembering her today. I hope she passed in peace.
Carmen was my favorite aunt and growing up my favorite and sweetest memories were the family reunions with her and all our family members, grandparents, aunts, cousins and close friends. I personally considered her to be "Extra", she was all about Glitz and Glamour, Style, Partying, Dancing, Traveling and helping others when she could. At the age of 16 she introduced me to the medical field, and I made a career out of it, I will forever be grateful for this introduction. I remember many years ago, when my mom met some life challenges, she was there for her with her strong will and sense to help her get by...she was a force to be reckoned with! Carmen swept in and out of my life the past few decades as family needs and life challenges occurred, but I will always be thankful for that sparkle that she left within me... May she rest in Peace with all her loved ones who left us way to early!
