I've only known Tom for a little over two years (through Elizabeth, my former neighbor and friend), but in that time I came to know him as a truly wonderful man - intelligent, compassionate, funny, and a love for good times and good food! As caretaker for my Mom (who passed last September) I did not expect Tom to get to know her, but he showed genuine care and love for her all the way up until her death. I have spent the past 3 days getting to know his family a little better, and all I can say he what a profound effect he had on his children, their friends, and his siblings! After a few hours of reminiscing their times growing up in the Runnions household, I felt an empathy rarely felt for a family a barely know, and I cried right alongside them! I have been truly blessed to have known Tom for the brief time I did, I just hope these words encourage his family and friends. I pray for Betty, and for Tom's entire extended family blessings of comfort and peace through this difficult time of transition.
