Zoraida Moro Agront entered into the arms of our heavenly father on June 12th, 2018. Zoraida was born September 11, 1966 on the island of Isabela, Puerto Rico to Francisco Agront and Carmen Moro. Affectionately nicknamed "Zori" she was the 7th child of the loving parents. Zoraida had 4 brothers and 5 sisters; Carmen Lopez, Iris Lopez (Heriberto Perez), Amalia Castro, Miriam Cruz (Humberto Cruz), Luis Lopez (Leticia Lopez), Robert Agront (Janet Agront), Miguel Agront, Marisol Agront and Francisco Agront whom she leaves behind. Zoraida was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Agront and her mother, Carmen Moro. She has many nieces and nephews to whom she will miss.
Zoraida had many life-long friends including; Mayra Velez, Irma Tirado and many others. She graduated from William Howard Taft High School in Bronx, New York in 1984.
Zoraida accepted Christ at a young age. Upon her baptism and confirmation at age 16, Zoraida chose the loving spirit of Mary, The Virgin Mother, as her Patron Saint. It is with the spirit of the Virgin Mary that she gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Kitana Agront Mauleon , wonderful son Brandon Lee Mauleon and loving companion Max the Chihuahua.
Zoraida was a beautiful, loving, mother and wife to Emilio Mauleon, Kitana Agront Mauleon and Brandon Mauleon. She enjoyed shopping with her children, who were the loves of her life and her greatest source of joy. Zoraida enjoyed cooking dishes from her homeland of Puerto Rico, singing, dancing merengue, salsa, bachata and being surrounded by family and friends who loved her. In her spare time, she would sew pillow cases for her friends, neighbors and family.
Zoraida, Kitana and Brandon would enjoy going to the park, being in nature and dancing in the Sun together. Zoraida delighted in the blessing that is being a mother and spending time with her children. Zoraida's smile and dance would light up the room every time she entered. She sparkled in her favorite color, baby blue and enjoyed spending quality time being outside with her family.
Zoraida taught her children to have confidence in everything they do, to be independent and to treat everyone with respect and dignity. Her life is a testament to how angels walk amongst us and with small acts of love and kindness we bring joy to the lives of many. Zori brought love and light to everyone who was blessed to meet her. She reminds her family that time and distance are small in the eyes of God and she will remain in their hearts forever.
"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate (Heaven)." - Proverbs 31:31 NIV
