William Thomas Stone's Obituary
William Thomas Stone (USAF Ret.), 73, of Spring Hill, Fl. passed away March, 8 at home while under the care of his loving family. Funeral services will be held Friday 11 am at Grace Memorial Funeral home, with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Where Military Honors will be conducted. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A native of Chicago, IL. Mr. Stone enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 and served until 1983 retiring a Master Sergeant being awarded the Bronze Star for acts of Valor and the Purple Heart during the Vietnam Conflict. He came to Spring Hill, Fl. in 1984 and worked for the Department of Corrections later retiring in 2010 after 16 years of service. Memberships include St Andrew's Episcopal Church where he was an active volunteer and usher, and he was a life member of The Florida United Numismatists. William and Sharon are both avid Tampa Bay Rays fans and together they attended over 400 home games in 5 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (married in 1978); 4 sons; Tray, James “J.R.”, Chris and Kevin; 2 daughters, Stacy and Angela; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
