William "Bill" Ebel's Obituary
William Craig “Bill” Ebel, 82, of Hudson (Heritage Pines), Florida passed away April 3, 2018 while under the care of HPH Hospice. A Native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and born to Edward and Janet (Craig) Ebel, he grew up in Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Accounting. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a Presbyterian by faith. After his service, he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he worked for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co.) for 19 years and met the love of his life, Sue. Later, Bill and Sue owned and operated five Hallmark Card & Gift Stores in the Pittsburgh area. He retired to Hudson, Florida in 2004 and enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends in Heritage Pines. Bill was a loving Husband, Father and “Pop Pop”. He is survived by his wife Sue, whom he shared 57 years of marriage, 3 daughters, Kathy Csonka and husband Joe, Laura Verscharen and husband Joe, and Alison Ebel; brother, Edward Ebel; 6 grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlin, Matthew, Michele and husband Josh, Frank, and Caroline. A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, April 14th at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society https://donate3.cancer.org/ in memory of Bill.
