Wayne Eugene Horton's Obituary
Wayne Eugene Horton, 75, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Bayonet Point Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Horton, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, was the beloved son of the late Ernest Lee Horton and Iva Jane Horton (née Long). Wayne honorably served in the United States Army for six years—three in the reserves and three on active duty. During his time in active service, he was deployed during the Vietnam War, where he served as Contact Truck Mechanic. His dedication, skill, and commitment to his country were a testament to his character and strength.
Wayne had a lifelong passion for cars. He loved fixing them, reading about them, and attending car shows. He and Elaine shared a special bond through their love of racing.
He loved fishing but most of all he loved spending time in his garage and helping people with his mechanical knowledge.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Horton; his nephew, Roger Horton Jr.; his niece, Melissa Horton; and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger Horton and Barry Horton.
Wayne will be remembered for his mechanical skill, adventurous spirit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.
