Wayne Leroy Babcock's Obituary
Wayne Babcock 82, Port Richey and long time resident of Pasco County and Korean War vet, went to sing with the angels on 06/12/16 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Jo (Joanna) and 5 children: Debra (Scott) Davies, James (Kathy) Babcock, Judith (Bruce) Simpson, Jan (Andy) Anderson and Scott Babcock and eleven grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. He was born in Midland, Mi. and spent his early life in Northern Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a MA in Social Work. His entire career was spent in the mental health field working with Adults and Children in Michigan, Wisconsin, California, and Florida. He retired from the Pasco County School System. He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church and choir, several community choirs and an art group. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and fixed up bikes for the homeless. He loved to “putter” in his garage and garden. A Memorial Service will be held on 06/14/16 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, New Port Richey. The family request that any memorials be made to Habitat for Humanity or the food pantry at the church.
