Vincenza "Virginia" Lella's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vincenza Lella, lovingly known to many as Virginia, who left this world on November 15, 2025, in Hudson, Florida, at the age of 80. Born on May 27, 1945, in Palinuro, Italy, Vincenza carried the warmth, strength, and traditions of her birthplace throughout her life. Her journey took her from Italy to Queens, New York, then to Las Vegas, Nevada, and later to Hudson, Florida, where she spent her later years surrounded by the love of her family.
Vincenza was the devoted wife of Michael Lella and the cherished mother of Rose DeName, Francesco Crisci, the late Teresa Mele, Catherine Arnone, Joseph Lella, Vita Lella, and Anthony Lella. She was a loving mother not only to her own children but to every child fortunate enough to be in her presence. Her nurturing spirit, gentle guidance, and open heart touched countless lives.
A gifted and passionate cook, Vincenza found great joy in preparing meals for those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, comfort, and tradition—where family and friends were nourished not just with food, but with love, laughter, and memories that will endure for generations.
Vincenza was also skilled with her hands and possessed remarkable patience and creativity. As a seamstress for most of her life, she brought beauty and care into the world one stitch at a time. And when she wasn’t at her sewing machine, she enjoyed spending time at the slot machines, finding simple joy in the lights, sounds, and excitement of the casino. Whether sewing a hem or hoping for a lucky spin, she carried the same spirit of optimism and enjoyment into everything she did.
She is survived by her beloved grandchildren: Freddie, Nicole, Jimmy, Danielle, Nicholas, Adrianna, Natalia, Michael, and Vincenza; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Gio, Gavin, Amelia, Frankki, and Gianna. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
A service to honor and remember Vincenza’s life will be held on December 6th at 1:30 PM at Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Vincenza’s legacy of love, generosity, creativity, and devotion to her family will live on in all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
