Thomas J Wavra's Obituary
Thomas J. Wavra, 96, of Hudson passed away on December 17, 2021. He was born January 27 1925 in New York, New York to the late Anthony and Julia Wavra. Tom was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp. He became a Marine in 1943, days before his 18th birthday at the height of World War II. He proudly served in Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Tom was discharged in 1945, but later reentered Active Service to serve his county in the Korean War. After his military service, Tom worked as a supervisor for ConEd in New York. Tom truly enjoyed dancing with all kinds of styles including square dancing along with country dancing. He retired in the 1980s and moved to Florida to enjoy retirement with his wife Gladys of 73 years marriage who passed away in 2018.
Tom is survived by his brother; Mickey and his wife Joan, brother-in-law Dan McDevitt; niece Donna Brooks and her husband, Timothy, niece Paige Berger and her husband; Jason, dear friends Marie and her husband Joe Fickeria, Stan, and Joan Hart and her family.
Private Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Funeral Home.
