Thomas J. Schiro's Obituary
Thomas J Schiro Sr, 95 passed away on Tuesday April 15, 2025.
He was the widower of Rose M Schiro (Rosebud). Both were long time residents of Rosedale, NY and Spring Hill, FL.
He was born on June 16, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of six children of Charles and Josephine Schiro.
He attended Brooklyn Automotive High School and played minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Eagles, an affiliate of the Dodgers.
They moved from Brooklyn to Rosedale, NY, where they resided for more than 30 years, then to Spring Hill, FL, where they resided until 2021.
Thom was a member of the Sons of Italy, bowled with the CYO league in New York. He was a New York Mets, Knicks and Rangers fan, and upon moving to Florida, a Rays and Lightning fan. He loved playing Pinochle, going on cruises, going to Casinos with family and friends.
They belonged to the New York Club of Spring Hill and he also belonged to St Theresas Catholic Church as an usher. He was also a Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson James Thomas Biamonte; his brothers Joseph and Rose, Louis and Anne, John and Dora and sister Grace and Anthony Dionisio.
He is survived by his children: Marie & Richie Biamonte and Tommy & Maria Schiro. His grandchildren Lisa & Matt Owens, Diane Biamonte, Thomas & Marcella Schiro, Joseph & Katie Schiro and his great granddaughters- Mia Owens and Leah Biamonte. He is also survived my many nieces and nephews
He lived a great life, surrounded by family and friends who loved him.
