Theodore "Ted" Firnstein's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Theodore T. Firnstein announce his passing on Sunday May 9th, 2021 at the age of 81. Ted was born in Syracuse, New York to Theodore and Florence Firnstein on March 6th, 1940. Ted proudly served as an Electrician’s Mate in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Spiegel Grove (LSD-32) and retired from Verizon-NYNEX after working over 30 years as a Facilities Engineer.
Ted was a true family man with an outgoing personality that attracted a wide circle of friends. His generous smile and unique personality will always be remembered by those who knew him. Ted was a loving, creative and witty man with many interests and talents. He could fix or build just about anything from broken hearts to cars and everything in-between. He enjoyed sharing his interests in classic cars, hunting, fishing, creating stained glass artwork, golfing and cards with family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen; by his children, son, Theodore J. Firnstein and his wife Linda; daughter, Janice Firnstein (DiMonda) and her husband Donald; son, Robert Firnstein; 5 grandchildren, Sara, Evan, Marcella, Juliana, and Christian; brother, Paul Firnstein and his wife Sheila.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ted Firnstein’s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation, PO Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365, in order to honor the service of veterans and first responders.
