Steve G. Benson's Obituary
Steve Benson 71; of Port Richey, Florida passed peacefully November 23, 2016 after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer and diabetes. He grew up on Long Island where he went to West Babylon high school and then married his wife Gerry in 1966. Steve was then drafted into the Army where he served two years in the Vietnam War. He had his son Jimmy in 1968 and then after moving to Florida in 1972 had his second son Keith. Steve landed a job at Karl Flammer Ford in Tarpon Springs, FL where he worked as a mechanic for 37 years, retiring at the age of 65. He had a love for rebuilding cars, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. He was an all-around family man who had a special kind of love for his grandchildren. Steve is survived by his wife Gerry of 50 years; 2 Sons Jimmy and Keith; 2 Brothers, Craig and George; 3 Sisters Cheryl , Maryann , and Deborah ; and his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a patriarch to his family and a great friend to many, he will forever be loved and greatly missed.
Family will receive visitors Friday December 2nd from 2-4pm & 6-8pm, And a service will be held Saturday December 3rd at 11am at Grace Memorial Gaardens.
