What a great guy to work with from St. Pete Beach to the Mekong Delta from Ft.Eustis to Vung Tau to Dong Tam to Binh Thuy. Scrounging toilets, extra weapons, ammo, beer, generators, steel plate, and any other equipment to make life more comfortable.
Rest in peace, my brother! We will work together again.
Our deepest sympathys to Marie and family for their loss of Stan. We shared some great times with Stan and Marie down on Treasure Island over 30 years ago. So enjoyed tarpon hunting with Stan during tournaments. Bob and Nancy Dowling
A great leader in our Reserve Unit 231st Army Boat Unit activated May 1968-1970.
Stan was responsible for building 19 Cabins on the rear of our LCM8 Mike Boats that 6 men to a boat spent a year supporting various US and Allied units in the Mekong Delta.
The cabins were not luxurious but we made due thanks to Stan's efforts in securing various items. We shared many a brew in that year for we were the Original Beer Men of the Mekong flying the Florida Flag. Everyone knew the 231st Reserves were on the job with a load of beer to boost the morale of the 9th Infantry deep in the Mekong delta.
