Mr. Seldom Adams' Obituary
Seldom B. Adams, Jr. was born 12-19-1941 in Anderson County, South Carolina, the son of Seldom B. Adams and Pearl (Watt) Adams. He was educated in the New York City schools and graduated from Aviation HS in Long Island City, NY. “Junior” as he was affectionately called by the family, had his sights set on being a pilot, but circumstances precluded that dream. Seldom had the opportunity to visit Europe and told family about their great public transit. His love of trains was the impetus to join New York City Transit where he retired as a subway conductor. He relocated to Florida with his beloved mom where they got to enjoy life and tend to their plants and flowers in a relaxed and sunny environment. He loved all gadgets trendy and mechanical - railroad sets, airplane models, reel to reel tapes, cooking appliances. He became adept at video recording – starting out with a super 8 camera. “Junior“ loved music and dancing. Boy, could he dance. He put Chubby Checker to shame doing variations of “the Twist.” He enjoyed a cold glass of milk (actually, a quart) to wash down his grandmother MME Adams’ great deserts. His sweet, genuine smile was indicative of his generous spirit. “Junior” was somewhat shy, but he had lifelong friends and new ones that he kept in touch with.
Seldom is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his 1 st and 2 nd cousins, Linda Arroyo, Gwendolyn Adams, Stacey A. Adams, Jr., Jaynard Clinkscales, Jacqueline Hensley, and Mariah Riley.
