Mr. Sandy Salvatore D'Amato's Obituary
In honor of our loving father Sandy Salvatore D’Amato This obituary isn’t standard, well because he was larger than life. Our Dad peacefully passed in his home next to our loving mother, Theresa D’Amato on July 20th, 2024. The great love of his life. They met and married each other in their late teens and have been inseparable for nearly sixty years. We learned how to love by watching our father love our mother so fiercely all of our lives. Sandy was known by many for his ability to make everyone laugh, his gentle touch, his protective nature, his unbelievable talent behind the salon chair and his love for God. Sandy was a devoted Catholic and spent countless hours in church doing what he loved doing, praying and decorating. Our Dad left behind his two daughters. Challice the eldest married to Todd and her beautiful daughter Neveah which was his only granddaughter. Leschele and her two handsome boys, Gianni and Jase. If you knew Sandy you would know that all he ever wanted in life was to be surrounded by his grandchildren. He had his wish. Sandy longed to see his mom again one day and we believe in our hearts she greeted him at the gates of heaven. Over many years Sandy has turned many friendships into family and I know so many are mourning along side of us. He loved you all. Sandy had a large Italian family and left behind two brothers, Phillip and Alan and two sister Carolann, married to Forest and Debbie. In Lieu of flowers we ask that you pay it forward. Help someone in need. Buy a child the same age as one of his grandchildren a book they may need for school. A cup of coffee for someone whom looks like they are fighting a battle. Be a beacon of light in someone’s darkness. Because that was our Dad. His family will never be the same but we will learn how to smile at his memory and spread all the love he left us behind. Celebration of life Dads style coming soon
