Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time we wish we could be there with you . So many memories and stories that will all be cherished and when we get together we will share them and laugh and he will be beside us laughing along with us .

Below is the eulogy for church. Eulogy opened the service and a beautiful mass followed. We really appreciate the love and prayers from everyone who attended as well as all the virtual hugs from afar.
"Hello Everyone. Thank you all for coming today to honor my father's life. Salvatore Plumitallo was a family man, a hero, a teacher, and a friend. He was also the greatest dad a girl could have asked for.
As a family man, he was always present. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and was one of 9 children. Throughout his life he celebrated all the joys and sorrows. He was the first to hug, the first to tease and often the first to cause a ruckus. If he wasn't calling his nieces and nephews names he was chasing or tickling them but he loved them dearly. This lively spirit rubbed off directly onto his son, Anselmo.
He took these values to our small family too. Although he worked 6 out of 7 days a week, he involved us in his business. I remember him teaching me to take out hair rollers for a quarter a head (even though he could do it faster himself). As I got older I was taught to shampoo a head or two (but only those that didn't mind getting wet). My mother made cookies for the shop and ran a clothing store in the back. So we were always together. My father embraced our extended families no matter how they grew and changed. Most of all, when his granddaughter Isabella was born, he made her his world.
He was a hero that served his country in the Korean war. However, it didn't stop there. He supported our God, the government and his family as a protector on a daily basis, never afraid to face those with higher title or louder complaints.
As a teacher, he taught us by example. He showed us how to love, behave and work hard. He always had a big smile and a handshake or a hug. He looked you straight in the eye. He was happy to care for his home at the end of a long work day, especially his yard with pride. He made sure we knew how to behave and we knew his expectations. However, he was a gentle soul. His biggest punishment was when he wouldn't talk to you...and truthfully that never lasted long. Even as my life changed through marriage and divorce, he taught me that life goes on and you just keep moving forward. There were days I thought things were going to be too hard. Then, I saw an 80 year old man pausing to breathe as he fixed my yard and he showed me that you must enjoy the life God gives you and do what you need to do.
Towards the end of my dad’s life it was very difficult for our family to watch him struggle with cancer. Even though he was fighting such a difficult battle he always remained strong and was optimistic. He loved to live. He showed the most concern for us and how we were doing. He did not want anyone to feel sorry for him. The strength that he showed and his love for us is something that we will never forget. My dad was truly our hero and our friend. He was like the giving tree and he gave to us and loved us until he just couldn't do it anymore. We love you dad and will miss you very much. God bless."

HIS JOURNEY’S JUST BEGUN
Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
My loving brother, you are always by my side protecting me and watching over me. Continue to stay near as you remain in my heart ever so dear!
More than anything, I wish we could be there with all of you today but Elaena, Anselmo, Kim and Isabella, please know our hearts, though broken, are right there with all of you.
Uncle Sal was the second youngest of 9 children and was adored and showered with love by each of his 6 older sisters.
But who was this devilishly handsome man. Let me share the Uncle Sal I knew.
He was my very first babysitter - mom if you only knew- you walked out the door and the party walked in.
He was the ruggedly handsome soldier serving his country in Korea
He was the beauty school student who gave me my first permanent. I spent 7th grade with all of my classmates (including little Elaena DiCamilla) calling me Brillo Head
He was the star beautician at the Fountain Bleu and Eden Rock Hotels in Miami where he entertained many family members for their Florida vacation. He always invited us to Miami during the Italian Season - July and August.
He was the rock star who convinced my mom to let me take my first water skiing lesson in Coral Gables just as a thunderstorm was approaching.
He owned his first Beauty Parlor in Brooklyn and enjoyed tremendous success not because he was a great hair stylist (no offense) but because he made you laugh, entertained and made his customers feel valued and loved.
He was the overly confident young man who brought a date to my wedding, ignored my bridesmaid’s date, and in the course of the evening, swept her off her feet as they both dumped their dates and began their incredible life journey. Thus my good friend and bridesmaid suddenly became my “Auntie.”
He was the best friend and confidante to his equally handsome son Anselmo
He was the proud and excited father of Kim (there are hours and hours of video to prove how much he adored her)
And then there was the sheer wonder and joy he got from being Grandpa to Isabella.
To sum up who he is I’d like to answer the one question he never missed an opportunity to ask me:
“Cathy tell the truth, really, who is the handsomest man you know, really?”
This last time I have to tell you, without a doubt, you, Uncle Sal, are definitely the handsomest. You are the handsomest not just because of your Adonis type good looks but for the strength of your character, the depth of your courage, your fight in the face of adversity,and your boundless love for your family, especially Elaena, Anselmo, Kim and Isabella. You are and always will be my handsome hero.
