Sally M. Carlson's Obituary
Sally Matherson Carlson, 77, of Spring Hill FL, peacefully passed on January 16, 2015 after a brief illness. She was formerly a resident of Fitchburg, MA for 32 years.
Sally was born in Winchester, MA on Oct 16, 1937 daughter of the late Raymah & Edwin Matherson.
She graduated Manchester High School in 1955 and went on to receive her associates degree in Commercial Science from Colby Junior College in 1957.
Sally was a true New Englander at heart. She loved the Maine coast line, New Hampshire back roads, picking blueberries and her very favorite, fresh Maine lobsters.
While living in Florida, she was a member of the AARP Hernando County East Chapter 102.
She is survived by her husband George Carlson of Spring Hill, FL, three sons, Christopher Carlson and his wife Christine of Ashburnham, MA, Peter Carlson and his wife Michele of Leominster, MA and Matthew Carlson of Spring Hill, FL. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Lee Knowland of Bradenton, FL, Nancy Strong of New Boston, NH, a brother Richard Matherson of Maine and many nieces and nephews.
Sally was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and the fellowship of the members. In loving memory, she was honored during last Sundays service at her church.
There will be a memorial service held in Massachusetts at a later date.
