For many years now, Aunt Ruth and I would talk on my 45 minute trip home from school. At least once a week, sometimes twice, we would reminisce, argue, agree, and always, always laugh. She was a touchstone to the past for me with regard to my father and mother, Nana, Uncle Tom and Harry and many others. I always looked forward to talking to her; picking her brain about the past, discussing the current world and US situations but mostly listening to her laugh. She had such a great and easy laugh. She's in heaven and I'm glad she isn't in pain any more but I will miss her dearly and the ride home will be much lonelier and not nearly as much fun. God speed Aunt Ruth.
