Roslyn Monsky's Obituary
Roslyn Monsky of Portsmouth RI, formerly of Green Acres and Trinity FL, passed peacefully on October 8 at home. Roz was born on July 26, 1931, in New York City to Louis and Minnie Miller. She was the middle child in a warm and loving home. She grew up in Linden NJ and graduated from Linden High School. Roz met Bill, the love of her life on a blind date and they married in June of 1955. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before Bill’s passing. Roz relished her role as a mother to Michael and Cynthia and raised her family in Fords NJ. She served as a caretaker for her parents who lived with her family. She earned her associate’s degree in early childhood education from Middlesex County College with all A’s and just one B while raising her family and serving as a caretaker to many relatives.
Family was the center of her universe, and she loved being an aunt, great aunt, and most of all a grandmother. She was a lifelong learner and continued to take college courses well into her eighties.
