Rose Riddick's Obituary
Rose Simpson Riddick (Robinson), daughter of
the late Reverend John Wesley and Fannie
Treadwell Robinson, was born on May 8,1924 in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rose received her
education from the Pittsburgh public school
system and later attending an all girls finishing
school where she learned shorthand a lost art
today, landed her a job as an Administrative
Assistant to the Manager of external affairs of the
Department Veterans Administration,
Washington, D.C. where she retired after 35
years.
Mother Rose as she was known at Peace Baptist
Church worked in the church office for many
years and sang with the Senior Choir. She was
an active member of the Noon Day Bible Study
Senior Group. While attending Pilgrim Rest Baptist
Church she continued her duties in the church
office and Hosean International Missions and
Summer Vacation Bible School before moving to
New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Florida
where she was active in their senior club.
Mommie Rose will be forever remembered by her daughters Dr.
Genesis Lenora Johnson and Annette Simpson. Recently passed
son Douglas, age 66. Kisses and hugs from her grandchildren
Natasha and Derek Johnson and Blessed by the love of her
great-grandchildren Kingston 13, Legend 6, Princeton 5, Lyric 5 and
soon to arrive in October Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwards). She
is also survived by her sister Dorothy Shirley and many nieces and
nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 11:00AM with a visitation starting at 10am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church .Grace Memorial Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Hwy. 19 North, Hudson FL, 34667, (727)863-5471 are in charge of arrangements for the family.
