Ronald William Sprague's Obituary
It is with great sadness that our father, Ronald William Sprague, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 to be with our mom in heaven. Our dad was born in Kingston, New York, on July 27, 1935.
It is in this small town of Kingston where our dad found his people. He took pride in knowing everyone from all walks of life. This is where he met, fell in love and married our mom, Roberta Stevenson. While serving in the army, our mom and dad started a family of their own. Skiing Highmount, playing tennis, or finding solace on the golf course is where you would find us on any given weekend. Our dad lived life boldly, never one to shy away from a challenge. He would boast of his skiing adventures in Colorado, white water rafting and skydiving at 65.
Our dad was the epitome of old school. He worked hard for everything he had. Whether he was picking onions and delivering newspapers as a kid or working as an electrician for the Union, Mason’s guild, or IBM, he had the strongest work ethic of anyone. He was no doubt a tough cookie but would give anyone in need the shirt off his back.
Once retired, he decided to move to Florida so our family could be together. It is here where he played golf to his heart’s content.
Our dad is survived by his three children Gail Sprague, Keith Sprague and daughter-in-law Laura Sprague, Julie Vohra and granddaughter Kylie Vohra. As well as his sister Melvina Berinato and brother-in-law John Berinato, and brother Frazier Sprague.
A small memorial service will be at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, FL on June 14th at 3:00 pm.
