Rolande Blanchette's Obituary
Rolande Blanchette (1930 – 2025) formally of Danbury, CT and Eagle Lake, ME died surrounded by her family on Monday, October 27, 2025 in Port Richey, FL. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. To her many grandchildren, she was known lovingly as Memere. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rolande was the daughter of Edward and Yvonne Dube Simard and survived by one of her brothers Kerry Simard. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Patrick Blanchette. Her life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was renowned for her generosity, her passion for cooking, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome in her home. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her. Rolande lived in Port Richey, Florida, and Danbury, Connecticut. Her children survive her: Brenda Prescott and her partner Ed Cerrone, Marlene Blanchette, Peggy Murphy and her husband George, Patty Blanchette, James Blanchette, and Lisa Blanchette. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Blanchette, and her twin sons, Felix and Edward Blanchette. Rolande is also survived by twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Her loving family will miss her dearly. Rolande's memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life. A memorial service will be held next summer to honor Rolande's life and legacy.
