Roger Dean Edwards' Obituary
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Roger Dean Edwards, age 66, of Weeki Wachee, Florida. Roger passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family. A true “man’s man,” Roger was known for his love of the open road on his Harley and the smoky aroma of a grill fired up for family and friends. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking outdoors, sharing stories, and teaching the everyday skills that built confidence and self-reliance in his children and grandchildren. Whether it was fixing a leaky faucet or tuning up a car, Roger was always ready to lend a hand and share his know-how.
In his later years, when mobility became a challenge, Roger found peace and companionship in nature. He developed a special bond with the squirrels in his yard, patiently feeding them until they trusted him enough to eat from his hands—a testament to his quiet patience and gentle spirit.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Edwards; his children, Sarah Clark, Kathy Spivey (Andre Kress), and Amy Barrett (Kory Barber); his grandchildren, Mariah Barrett (Dino Rubero), Hunter Merritt (Rachel Merritt), Tyler Barrett (Kaitlyn Hines), Derek Spivey, Hailee Merritt, Katherine Wilson, Shilo Clark, Konner Clark, and Ahmani Barrett; and his great-grandchildren, Julian, Elena, Jaxson, and Jasper.
He will be remembered not only for his rugged charm and practical wisdom but also for the love he poured into his family and the memories he helped create.
A celebration of life for Roger is Saturday June 14th, 3pm-5pm @ 7442 Shoal Line Blvd. Weeki Wachee, FL 34607
