Robert J. Ryan Jr.'s Obituary
Robert J. Ryan Jr., 69, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21st, 2015. Robert was born in Flushing, New York to Robert and Agnes Ryan on August 5th, 1946. He was a retired Police Detective with 34 years in the Suffolk County Police Department. Robert completed numerous accomplishments with county, state and federal organizations. He held many positions with the Cross Creek and Summer Tree community properties. He was also a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and past president of the SCPD Emerald Society. Bob was also very involved with the SCPD Detective Association, PBA, IPA and CP&G Railroad. He was a caring man who always believed in the creed “Faith, Family and Friends.” He will always be remembered as a gentleman. Robert was predeceased by his son Robby Ryan and his sister, Judith. He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Ann Marie (nee Birney) Ryan; brother in-law, Walter (Laura) Birney and their children; Janine (Craig) Valentine, Elaine (Dave) Nihen, Benjamin Birney; brother in-law, Joseph (Carolyn) Birney and their children; Ellen (Joseph) Parker and their children; Alister and Emerson; nephew, Brian (Stacy) Birney and their children, Aiden; Madison and Brooklyn; niece, Kate Birney. His sister Judith’s children, Tom Togneri (Michelle, deceased) and their children; Julia, TJ and Mia, his niece; Eileen Bagdoian and her children; Mark and Victoria.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 25th, 2015 at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, 16931 U.S. Hwy. 19 North, Hudson, FL, 34667, 727-863-5471 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 26th at 11:00AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8014 State Road 52, Hudson, FL, 34667. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity in Bob’s name.
