Robert Povolny's Obituary
Povolny, Robert "Bob" age 82 Formerly of Smithtown N.Y. succumbed to a two year battle with cancer. Bob passed away peacefully holding his wife of 58 years Carol Ann Povolny's hand as he took his last breath. Bob was a graduate of Bayside High School, Queens. He served our country in the Navy from 1955-1959 on the U.S.S. Intrepid. After the Navy he went to the Mineola School of Radiology. He worked as a X-Ray Technician at St. Francis Hospital in Port Washington for 25 years, and continued his career of radiology at Stony Brook Hospital in Stony Brook for another 10 years. Bob retired to New Port Richey Florida with the Love of His Life, Carol in 2001. Bob loved playing Billiards, Horseshoes & Bocce with his friends of Summer Tree. Bob also loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor, that will be missed by many. But the most important thing to Bob was his family! He was survived by his Children, Donna, Greg (Trish), Glenn, Matt (Malia) & Christine; his 8 Grandchildren Brianne, Kirsten, Nicholas, Zachary, Anthony, Aidan, Sophia, & Malia , and one Great Grandchild Dominic, all of who will hold him in their hearts forever! A Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 8400 Monarch Drive Port Richey, FL 34668. The family will receive friends at Grace Memorial Funeral Home Tuesday from 3 to 6 PM with a wake service at 5:30 PM. In Lei of Flowers -The Family asks that donations be made to Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care - 2061 Collier Parkway - Land O' Lakes, Fl 34639 in memory of Bob.
