Dr. Lisa Ferlita
She loved my brother and me, even though she didn’t always know how to show it.
Sometimes love came out quietly, or not at all, but it was still there.
Life wasn’t easy for her.
She made difficult choices and carried parts of her life in private.
Those choices sometimes created distance, even when there was love.
She did the best she could with what she knew and what she had at the time.
I miss her.
I miss her presence, her voice, and the moments we shared.
I hold on to the love she had for us, even if it wasn’t always expressed.
She lived a long life, and she mattered.
She was my mom, and I will always carry her with me.
