Richard M. Poulnot's Obituary
Richard M. Poulnot, age 69, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the Dr. Jay Weil Center for Hospice Care in New Port Richey, Florida.
Richard was born in Tampa, Florida, on March 12, 1957, to the late Milton Poulnot and Jewel Poulnot (née Clark). A dedicated and hardworking man, Richard spent many years as an automotive parts manager, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment.
He shared 21 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Poulnot. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He was known for his kind, thoughtful nature and his deep love for those around him.
Richard had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping when his children were younger. He loved playing golf, fishing, and watching sports, especially cheering on the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Florida Gators. He also had a lifelong love for animals—when he was younger, he owned a monkey named Ringo, and later found joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs, Max and Toby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Poulnot; his daughter, Mandy Land (Jason); his sons, Kyle Poulnot (Shelby), Korey Poulnot (Karianne), and Cody Poulnot (Brittany); his step-sons, Chad Alves (Paula) and Jaime Alves (Rachel); and his step-daughter, Kim Levesque. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jordan, Preston, and Killian; seven step-grandchildren, Chad, Tommy, Jayson, Matthew, Kelsie, Jake, and Olivia; and three step great-grandchildren, Chad, Arjana, and Caralia. Additionally, he leaves behind his sisters, Darlene, Sherry, and Patti, as well as his cherished dogs, Max and Toby.
A potluck celebration of Richard’s life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Susan’s residence, located at 14307 Sandbunker Ct, Hudson, Florida 34667.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
