Richard Carl Berlin's Obituary
Richard C. Berlin, 69, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026 at Citrus Hospice House in Lecanto, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Kelly Berlin, and together they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage, built on love, laughter, and companionship.
Richard was born on December 22, 1956, in Midland, Michigan, to the late Carl and Florence Berlin (née Patton). He was a graduate of Dow High School.
Richard had a deep love for the outdoors and sports. He enjoyed playing golf and previously played softball, a pastime that changed his life forever—it was on the ball field that he met his wife, Kelly. While living in Michigan, Richard loved hunting on the 20 acres of land he and his family owned, finding peace and fulfillment in nature. After moving to Florida, he cherished time spent at the beach.
He proudly served his community as a volunteer fireman for Lee Township, exemplifying his caring and selfless spirit.
Professionally, Richard worked in Florida for Bright House Networks (now Spectrum) for 15 years as a cable technician. He loved his work—whether climbing poles or going into customers’ homes to set up service, he truly enjoyed connecting with people. His friendly nature, big smile, and gentle demeanor made him well loved by coworkers and customers alike.
Richard was known for being quiet, easygoing, and laid back, with a soft and kind heart. He often joked that he didn’t need to talk much because his wife could do the talking for both of them, a line that perfectly captured his dry humor and deep affection.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Berlin; son, Joel Berlin (Alessia); stepson, Steve Putnam; stepdaughter, Amy Noerr (Ben); five cherished grandchildren, Edison Berlin, Austin Dupertuis, Isabella Aguirre, Gloria Putnam, and Lauren Putnam; brother, Chris Berlin; sister, Carol Wierman (Jack); nephew, Aaron Wierman; and nieces, Candice Berlin and Grace Berlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Florence Berlin, and his brother, Thomas Berlin.
Richard’s warmth, caring nature, steady presence, and the quiet love he shared so freely will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
