Ramona L. McIver's Obituary
MCIVER, Ramona L. “Mona” 89, of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side December 21, 2018. She was born April 25, 1929 in Lynchburg, VA to Clarence and Mary (Lipscomb) Dodson. Survived by her husband, Wallace “Mac” of 64 years, they returned to FL in 1976 after enjoying 30 years of military life with the Marine Corps. Survivors also include son, Roy Witt (Doris); daughters Janice Thompson (Steve) and Susan Brock (Mike); brother Jerry Dodson (Stancy); six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Mona began a career in cosmetology in 1954 and worked on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, FL where she also rode on a float in the Orange Bowl Parade. Through the years she worked many different jobs from east to west coast, Hawaii and the Republic of Panama while raising a family. She served in many social and charitable organizations over the years and locally had been a member of the Spring Hill chapter of General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Red Hat Society “Crimson Cuties” for 20 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in her honor to Hospice or the SPCA of Hernando County.
