Rafael Carrillo Ruiz's Obituary
Rafael Carrillo Ruiz, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Stacy Nicole Ruiz, with whom he shared 18 wonderful years—two of them as husband and wife.
Born in Puerto Rico, Rafael was the son of the late Felipe Carrillo and Aurea Ruiz. He proudly served in the United States Army for two years. After his military service, he began a long and fulfilling career as an Airline Engineer with Eastern Airlines.
Rafael had a zest for life and a heart full of kindness. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, playing pool, and crafting intricate miniatures. Known for his humor, warmth, and generosity, Rafael touched the lives of many and was often described as someone who wore his heart on his sleeve.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Stacy Nicole; his cherished daughter, Zuryeka “Zully”; his stepchildren, Bradley and Brittany; two adored grandchildren; his loving sisters, Maria Milagros and Maria Mercedes; and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Grace Memorial Funeral Home.
