Peter J. Viernes' Obituary
Peter J. Viernes, 67, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014. He was born to Vincent Reynante and Lois Viernes on July 18, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to the Spring Hill area in 1997 from Saint Charles, Illinois. He is a member of the Christian Faith. Peter was very active in the local community, having risen to the level of Pilgrim as a member of Spring Hill Moose Lodge 521. He was also a volunteer with the Hernando County Volunteer Fire Corps, Behind the Stone Ministries, and the Salvation Army. Peter is survived by his brothers: Raymond Viernes (Anarosa) of Sugar Land, Texas and Phil Viernes (Mary) of Roselle, Illinois; and his sisters: Yvonne Olson (John) of Romeoville, Illinois and Christina Margison of Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of forty years Virginia "Ginny" Viernes in 2010, his father Vincent Reynante, his mother Lois Viernes in 1988 and step-father Stanley Viernes in 1970; along with his sisters: Charlene MacPhail in 2007 and Benita Hawken in 2003. Peter will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 12:00 p.m., with one hour of visitation prior at Grace Memorial Funeral Home in Hudson.
