Pearl Delcita Smellie's Obituary
A Joyful Farewell to Pearl D. Smellie
October 12th, 1928 – March 28th, 2026
We celebrate the beautiful life of Pearl D. Smellie, a hardworking, honest, curious, responsible, and confident woman whose journey began in Jamaica and touched three countries. Her 97 years were filled with movement, learning, and love that brightened every place she called home.
Born in Jamaica, Pearl carried the island’s warmth wherever she went. She later lived in England and the United States, embracing each new culture with an open mind and a lively spirit.
Travel was one of Pearl’s great joys, but she never lost her love for simple, hands-on creativity. She sewed many of her own clothes, turning fabric into practical art that reflected her independent style.
Cooking stood at the heart of her gatherings with family and friends. A homemade meal from Pearl meant laughter around the table and memories that will stay fresh for years to come.
Pearl survives her son, Michael; eight grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Her steady guidance and caring presence shaped a legacy of honesty, responsibility, and quiet confidence that lives on in them.
Pearl passed away at Madison Point Care Center in New Port Richey on March 28th, 2026. Today, we choose gratitude for her long, vibrant life and for the lasting imprint she leaves on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Service details will be announced at a later date.
