Nina Rosa Giaccone Maurer's Obituary
Nina Rosa Giaccone Maurer, 90, of Spring Hill passed away on September 17, 2022. She was born March 19, 1932 to the late Anthony and Lottie (Catalanotto) Giaccone in Brooklyn, New York. Nina had several careers throughout her life; working as a legal secretary, a substitute teacher, a guardian ad-litem, and an operations manager. When asked what her proudest moment was, Nina once responded that it was the moment she became a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Nina was proud to serve as President of the Nature Coast Sons of Italy. She enjoyed reading, eating, socializing with friends, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Nina is preceded in death by her siblings Sylvester Giaccone and Vita Giaccone Ingolia.
She is survived by her son Eric Anthony Maurer, daughter Adrienne Marie Maurer, grandchildren Christie McGarty Marino, Nicholas McGarty, Stephen Maurer, Nicole Maurer McBride, Deena, Maurer Moreno; great-grandchildren Thomas Marino, Christopher Marino, Alessandrea Marino, Emma McGarty, and Nicholas McGarty, Jr.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, September 22 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be a prayer service at 1:30, followed by a procession and presentation from the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Nature Coast Lodge at 2:00 PM
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 23 at 10:00 AM at St Theresa Catholic Church.
