Meni J Tout's Obituary
Meni J. Tout, 77, of New Port Richey passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 after a battle with cancer. Meni was born in Tampa, FL on August 28, 1945 to John and Ourania Katsaras. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack, her son Timothy, and her sister Penny Faison. Meni was proud of her Greek heritage. Her father was one of the original sponge divers in Tarpon Springs, becoming Captain of his own boat, and was one of the founders of St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Meni retired from the banking industry in 1998 and started a food pantry in 2000 with her husband Jack through St. Nicholas Cathedral. Meni's passion for helping feed people was evident in all of her volunteering, from the Salvation Army's soup kitchen to Pack a Sack where she helped feed underserved children in the community. She was recognized for her efforts by the Archdiocese in Atlanta and awarded the Arch Angel Michael Award in 2018 for all of her efforts and community outreach. A visitation will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church (9426 Little Rd. New Port Richey, FL 34654) on Monday, September 4, 2023 from 6pm-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11am at St George, followed by an entombment at Grace Memorial Gardens 16931 US Highway 19 North, Hudson, FL 34667.
