I just found out now about the passing of my mom’s dear friend Marylou. My heart is broken. My mom sent her a Christmas card and it was returned. She then looked Marylou up and found that she had passed. It’s really a shock to us all. I am blessed to have known her and my heart is broken for her and her family and for my mother. She will always be treasured in our hearts. This world was better off for having Marylou in it. We wish that we would have known sooner. But the pure fact that we knew and loved Marylou is something we can never have taken away. Rest In Peace sweet Marylou and keep smiling that beautiful, infectious smile. The family is saddened by the sudden passing of Mary Lou Kolackovsky on March 25, 2018, at her home at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Stephen for 55 years. Loving mother of seven children (and spouses) Gary (Elissa), Dianna (Austin), Susan (Greg), Stephen (Roxanne), Alan (Annie), Belinda, and Dean. Proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Larry Morris, who resides in Tennessee. Mary Lou was the daughter of Beatrice Morris, a North Shore Long Islander, and Leon Morris, a Choctaw Indian from Oklahoma. Mary Lou and her family spent much of her childhood growing up on the island of Aruba, where Leon worked at the Esso Refinery. She graduated high school in Aruba and returned to Long Island, where she met and married Stephen. Together they raised a family moving quite a number of times from Long Island to the Southern Tier Upstate NY, back to Long Island, and finally, ending up at Heritage Pines in Hudson, Florida. Mary Lou was a resilient and hard working mother and spouse moving seven times with seven children; building one of their homes from the ground up alongside Stephen; and delivering the twins, Belinda and Dean while wearing a full leg cast from a broken leg. Her greatest happiness was with her friends at and nearby Heritage Pines, “her Bill” Gerlach whom she met after her husband’s passing, and her work and friendships at the Polish-American Club. Her constant smile and energy will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Mom. We will miss you. Your loving family
